Getting the team, the kit and the supporters to the game
Away fixtures, carnival weekends and state titles all go better when the squad travels together and arrives with time to warm up. We'll ask licensed operators for a vehicle that fits your players, coaches and gear.
Kit bags take up seats
A minibus has rear luggage space, but it shrinks fast once every seat is filled. At 16 to 19 seats it can't take twenty players, and a smaller squad with a kit bag each, plus the medical kit and ball bags, will still struggle to squeeze in. Tell us the bag count along with the headcount and we may suggest a midi coach, or leaving a row free.

Why the headcount matters to the driver
Bus licences step up with size. A bus seating more than 12 adults, up to 8 t GVM, needs a light rigid (LR) licence; a two-axle vehicle over 8 t needs medium rigid (MR); three or more axles need heavy rigid (HR). A late jump from 18 travellers to 30 can mean a different vehicle and a different driver, so let us know early if numbers change.
Rules worth knowing
- HVNL standard hours limit bus drivers to 12 hours' work in any 24 hours, with at least 7 continuous hours of stationary rest
- The King Street Wharf coach layover in central Sydney is for NSW-accredited long-distance, tourist and charter coaches
Tournament weekends and rest breaks
Early warm-ups and late finals make for long days. On HVNL standard hours, a bus driver must get at least 7 unbroken hours of stationary rest in any 24, so a dawn start after a late return may need a second driver. Western Australia and the Northern Territory use their own fatigue rules instead of the HVNL; the operator plans a Perth or Darwin trip to those.
Match-day set-downs
Big venues have their own rules. At Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, coaches may set down and pick up on Heussler Terrace but may not wait there, and event-day coach parking is by application. Adelaide Oval keeps buses out of its car parks altogether; on big event days, set-down happens on King William Road or Pennington Terrace.
Supporters bound for the Grand Prix should know Albert Park has no public parking at all while the event runs. Agree a set-down point and a meeting spot for after the final whistle, because phones and crowds don't mix well.
Your questions
Can supporters travel on a separate vehicle?
Yes. Some clubs book a minibus for the squad and a second vehicle for families, so the team can leave early for warm-up without anyone being rushed.
Will the driver wait during the game?
That depends on the venue and the day. Some drivers wait nearby, others leave and return. Share the expected finish time and we will ask for it to be planned in.
Can we book for a whole season?
You can ask for a run of fixtures in one request. Send the draw with venues and start times, and one quote covers every fixture.
