Minibus Hire Across Australia

Getting Your Group to and from the Ship

Five ports have their own page: Sydney, Melbourne's Station Pier, Brisbane, Fremantle and Hobart. Each explains where a group vehicle can meet you and how far it is to the airport.

Vehicle size changes the rules

In Hobart, a pre-booked vehicle with under 12 seats can use a waterfront parking space while the driver walks over to find you. Anything bigger than a 12-seater needs its pickup sorted with TasPorts two days or more in advance. Brisbane's terminal lets in only the coaches that cruise lines have booked themselves; a private charter needs the port's agreement before it can collect you there.

Timing your pickup

At the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney there's nowhere to park or wait on a ship day, and passengers usually start coming ashore roughly 30 minutes after the ship docks. At Station Pier in Port Melbourne, your driver waits in the car park by the pier's entrance. Send the ship's name and date and the operator will plan around them.

Your questions

What do you need for a cruise transfer?

The ship, the sailing date, your disembarkation or boarding time, how many are travelling and where you're heading next.

Can a minibus take us touring on a port day?

Yes. Plan the stops with plenty of margin before all-aboard, and let us know the ship's times when you ask for a quote.

Will our luggage fit?

It depends on the group. A turnaround day means full suitcases, so tell us how many bags there are and a vehicle with enough room is quoted.
